Bone Mineral Density Scans
Bone mineral density (BMD) scans measure the hardness and strength of your bones. People with denser bones have lower risk for fractures and osteoporosis. BMD is measured at the spine and hip using a procedure called dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA), which is a safe, painless way to assess bone health. After your scan, which takes just a few minutes, we provide feedback about your bone density and risk for osteoporosis. You also receive a report that can be shared with your physician.
Body Composition
Body composition for percent body fat and lean mass is also measured by the DXA technique. This procedure is the most accurate and precise measure of body fat and lean mass. You recline comfortably in your own clothing on the DXA table for this 10-15 minute procedure. Measuring body composition helps you track changes in body fat and muscle mass during a weight loss or weight training program.

Tip of the week
Spend 20 minutes a day doing something that is relaxing and not work related. Try taking a walk, stretching, reading a book, or doing yoga. These activities can help you keep your energy level up and feel better longer than eating a candy bar, drinking a soda, or eating a bag of chips.

Testimonials
The very capable staff's guidance, support, and encouragement, have helped us learn important techniques and principles. Because of my enhanced health, I have been able to continue, at the age of 79, to go camping and hiking with a group once a month in nearby mountains or desert for three days and two nights.
